Had it not been for the cold wind, it would have been perfect.
We had fun nonetheless!!
We were the only ones there, until some teenagers went into the skate park next door.
Andres was fascinated with them!! So we were the spectators, while these boys skated up ramps and did tricks.
On the way home, I started thinking about my little boy who will be 2 years old in April. (Wow!! How time flies).
I started looking into the future and visualizing him in high school and the type of boy he will become.
If we succeed at our part of parenting, he will grow up to be:
An intelligent, honest, caring, and respectful young man. Who understands that after hard work comes the rewards and a fair share of good fun.
A young man who is open minded, but questions things when they should be questioned.
Who will think for himself and not give into peer pressure.
Who will always try to make the right decision, even though it might be difficult.
Who is accepting of others, even though they might be different from him or the "norm."
Who is tolerant of other opinions, ideas, and beliefs.
Who is compassionate towards those who are unjustly treated and offers his help.
Who speaks his mind and stands up for those things he passionately believes in, if need be; but understands that by doing so he is not to purposely trying to offend others.
A young man who respects young women and knows how to treat his lady friends.
Who respects all people, as he does his family.
Yes! Our little boy will grow up to be this young man and so much more.
He will make us proud.
